    Death Note is a very unique anime that has fans all over the world.

    What makes Death Note different is the way in which it has handled the theme of justice and evil in an anime. It is not common that you see something like that in an anime. The mostly preferred and entertaining anime of children are always expected to have super heroes and adventurers with an entertaining plot. Death Note in fact gives you an entertaining and chilling experience with a lot of mystery and suspense involved. 

    The anime series was written by screen and was premiered on October 2006. The director of the television anime series is Tetsurō Araki, and Toshiki Inoue wrote for the screen. This anime belongs to the genre of mystery and psychological thriller.

    The teenager protagonist Light Yagami finds a book named “Death Note”, which grants its user the supernatural ability to murder a person whose name is written on it. The story centres on Light’s attempts to murder people whom he considers is morally evil and unworthy to the world and leads to a world-wide massacre. His idea behind these crimes would be to create a utopian society without evil.  He takes a god-like vigilante name “Kira” and is investigated by the law and order enforcement officers in Japan, consisting of members of the police force, led by L, an enigmatic international detective whose past is shrouded in mystery.

    Monster

    Monster is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Naoki Urasawa. The anime television series was directed by Masayuki Kojima and streamed on Nippon TV. The basic plot of the anime is revealed from its title itself. The story revolves around Dr. Kenzo Tenma, who is a young Japanese brain surgeon and is unhappy with the political bias of the hospital in treating patients. He gets manipulated by one of his former patients and goes through a series of investigations because of the multiple deaths associated with this patient. The anime explores human nature and the evils that could destroy anybody anytime. 

    Hell Girl

    Hell Girl is a psychological and mystery thriller about a character Hell Girl who can send people direct to hell with her supernatural dolls and mysterious power. Produced by Aniplex and Studio Deen, the series deal with revenge, injustice, hatred and the nature of human emotions.

    Every episode is a self-contained story in which people go to a website Hell Correspondence and gives the name of people whom they want to be in hell. The character hell girl does not make any judgements and sends them straight to hell with her supernatural powers. But things end up bad for those who want people in hell. It premiered across Japan on numerous television stations, including Animax, Tokyo MX, MBS and others, between October 4, 2005 and April 4, 2006.

    Terror in Resonance

    Terror in Resonance is the story of two teenage kids, Nine and Twelve, who steal a prototype atomic bomb and threaten to destroy Tokyo City. As expected, they are followed by police but cannot be caught as they are smart and can outwit the police force. You will get to know more about these boys and their background life when you watch Terror in Resonance. The series has one of the finest music and visuals in anime. It received a lot of praise and reception after its release.

    Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion

    Directed by Gorō Taniguchi and written by Ichirō Ōkouchi, Code Geass is one of the best anime you would have ever seen. Besides the plot and visuals, it has a lot of action scenes for the fighter in you. The whole story is set in a parallel time line world with three super powers and focuses on an exiled prince Lelouch vi Britannia, who obtains the “power of absolute obedience” or “Geass” from a mysterious woman named C.C. with this power, he sets for a rebellion against the rule of the Holy Britannian Empire, commanding a series of mecha battles.

    The series won a lot of awards at the Tokyo International Anime Fair, Animage Anime Grand Prix, and Animation Kobe event. Millions of DVDs were sold across Japan which proves its popularity. It won praise for its narrative, characters, strong voice acting, large audience appeal as well as the cross conflicts shown among the main characters and the moral questions presented.

    Steins; Gate

    Steins; Gate is a 2011 anime television series created by the animation studio White Fox based on 5pb and Nitroplus’s 2009 visual novel of the same name. This sci-fi series is directed by Hiroshi Hamasaki and the plot centres on Rintaro Okabe, a self-proclaimed “mad scientist” who discovers a time travel phone along with friends in his laboratory apartment. With this phone, they can send text messages to past and eventually can change history. 

    The storyline is perfect without any loopholes or illogical absurdness, which is hard to find in time travel movies. A critic, Santos called the character designs memorable, and found it refreshing that the anime featured an overweight person as one of its main characters. He noted that the backgrounds, while making use of muted and grayish tones, still had enough color to be visually appealing.

    Ergo Proxy

    Ergo Proxy is a Japanese cyberpunk suspense anime television series directed by Shūkō Murase and is set in a future city named Romdeau where humans and AutoReiv androids coexist peacefully. Things take a turn when these robots get infected by a mysterious virus and start to murder innocent people. The series follows the investigation conducted by Inspector Re-L Mayer who finds out the complicated twists involved in this case. Watch the anime to find out about these mysterious virus assassins. Besides the plot, the series employs magnificent 2D digital cel animation, 3D computer modelling, and digital special effects.

    Mirai Nikki/ Future Diary

    The title itself resembles to Death Note, isn’t it? If Light had a notebook, here we have diaries thrown into the hands of 12 kids by the god of time and space, Deus Ex Machina. These aren’t simple diaries, but those that can arm you with special abilities and takes these kids into death battles. The diary has its own advantages and disadvantages, turning the battle into a deadly one and the last survivor promised as the heir of Deus Ex Machina. Will anybody return from the Diary game alive?     No Game No Life

    If you are familiar with the parallel space world and empire world in anime, you will get to see a game world in No Game No Life. The series is adapted from a Japanese light novel series by Yū Kamiya and was directed by Atsuko Ishizuka. Much of the plot can be understood from the title itself and is the story of two kids who gets lost in a game world because of their obsession towards the online gaming world. 

    They are the undefeated and victorious gamers in the gaming world who are offered to live in a world that centres on games, which they think as a prank and hence, accepts. But what is important in a game world? The unknown magical rules if gone wrong could kill you! Watch this anime and see that games aren’t that fun the way you think they are.

    Death Parade

    The title sounds interesting and spooky, isn’t it? The death parade is literally the journey of the dead to a bar where they play death games, find out about their soul and the life afterwards. It is a 2015 Japanese anime television series created, written, and directed by Yuzuru Tachikawa and produced by Madhouse. You will get to meet the bartender, Decim to whom people died at the same time are sent and the way he decides the fate of these souls. The spine chilling plot is made thrilling with its visuals and the mysterious characters.

    Full Metal Alchemist : Brotherhood

    Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a Japanese anime television series adapted from the manga series written by Hiromu Arakawa. It is directed by Yasuhiro Irie ans was first aired on October 25, 2009. This TV anime series is a perfect watch for people of all age groups. It is the story of two brothers who attempt to practice alchemy just like their father, so as to bring back their deceased mother. As a result, the brothers end up by getting physically disfigured and hurt. The series, then moves to their search for the Philosopher’s Stone.
