Goblin Slayer Season 1 was first released on October 7, 2018 with 18 episodes directed by the talented Takaharu Ozaki.
Goblin Slayer Season 1 was a phenomenal success and there are many fans (including us) who are waiting for Goblin Slayer Season 2.
Goblin Slayer Storyline
As you can imagine, Goblin Slayer is centered around Goblin Slayer who slays Goblins with the first season ending with the defeat of Goblin Warlord and saving the town from complete destruction.
Goblin Slayer Season 2 : Release Date
For all the fans out there, Goblin Slayer Season 2 is confirmed but as of writing this post, there is no official news about when the show will go into production. Also, there is no confirmed timelines on when Goblin Slayer Season 2 plans to be released.
If you had watched Goblin Slayer Season 1, you will remember that the season ended with a note “Goblin Slayer will return” indicating the show will return.
Even though Goblin Slayer Season 1 was somewhat controversial because of heavy graphical content and some audience deemed it inappropriate, Goblin Slayer Season 1 still grew in popularity and had a very big fan base.
The on-going COVID-19 pandemic also has slowed any progress for Goblin Slayer Season 2 and in all likelyhood Goblin Slayer Season 2 can only be released in 2021 now.
Goblin Slayer Season 2 Plot
Goblin Slayer Season 1 was action-packed and the audience loved it. Going by early indications, Goblin Slayer Season 2 will also be an entertainer full of action and adventure.
In Goblin Slayer Season 1, a group of men and a priestess lead the fight against goblins and at the end of Season 1, they protected thier town and achieved their mission defeating the evil Goblin warlord.
At the end of Goblin Slayer Season 1, audience briefly got a glimpse of Goblin Slayer’s face which showed two scars near the chin and end note announcing “Goblin Slayer will be back”.
As for Goblin Slayer Season 2, you can expect that more details about Goblin Slayer will be revealed, including his past, his real name and some traits of his personality. It is not clear if Goblin Slayer Season 2 will show the Goblin Slayer’s full face–but we are hopeful.
Goblin Slayer Season 2 Cast
As there is no official announcement regarding Goblin Slayer Season 2, predicting the full cast for Goblin Slayer Season 2 will be difficult. However, we are hopeful that old cast including Yukihiro Umhera, guild girl Yui Ogura, Yuka Iguchi, Nao Tayuma will return in Season 2 and we can also expect some new cast members too.
Goblin Slayer Season 2 Spoiler
As Goblin Slayer is a direct adaptation from a light novel, the novel can give you some spoilers as well. As of now, 5 volumes of the novel have been translated into English by Yen Press and the 6th will be published soon.
There are rumours are that in season 2, there will be a major antagonist, the Dark Elf.
The second season will also be based around the Festival arc of the novel.
Goblin Slayer Movie
You should also know that a Goblin Slayer movie called Goblin Crown was released in Japan in Feb, 2020.
The Goblin Crown movie was based on Goblin Slayer Season 1 and it was a movie of 60 minutes as Goblin Slayer tries to rescue a young woman who had disappeared.
Goblin Slayer Movie was a huge hit in Japan, adding further fuel to speculation on Goblin Slayer Season 2.
