Kakegurui Season 3 Release Date, Storyline & Where to Watch [2022]

What is Kakegurui?

Kakegurui or Kakegurui – Compulsive Gambler is a Japanese manga series.

Kakegurui was written by Homura Kawamoto and illustrated by Tōru Naomura.

The manga was published by Square Enix in 2014, imprinted in GC Joker and the magazine was Gangan Joker magazine.

The manga is still ongoing. and the manga has about 14 volumes. 

Kakegurui was adapted as an animated series in 2017.

The show was directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, written by Yasuko Kobayashi and the studio was MAPPA. Kakegurui is a gambling genre based anime.

There are about 12 episodes excluding the special in the series.

The show takes place in a school and follows the stories of different high school students who love to gamble even if  it involves their lives.

Kakegurui takes place in Hyakkou Private Academy.

The ranks and popularity is dependent on the gambling skills of an individual.

It doesn’t matter how much cash or money someone has, he is accepted if he known has to gamble.

students gain points by participating in various gambling events, however, if they lose a match, their debt starts building up, they have to slave for the students of the Student Council and follow a “life schedule” provided by the council itself.

Mary Saotome is 17-years old and 162-cm tall. The character has blonde hair and dark-yellow eyes.

Mary Saotome is shown to be sadistic. She likes to torment the people who are the housepets of the Student Council.

Mary Saotome is known to constantly taunt and mock her opponents as she is filled with pride, ego and overconfidence.

Midari Ikishima is shown to be masochistic. She tends to show suicidal tendencies, an example is her left eye which she stabbed to pay off her debts.

The character is weird and intimidating when gambling and often portrayed as an impulsive risk-taker.

Yumeko Jabami is shown to be upbeat.

She usually creates a bug scene whenever showing off her gambling skills. Her skills easily catch the of the Student Council which creates a tension between her and the Student Council. She loves to intimidate, surprise and frighten the opponent.
