KonoSuba: God’s Blessing on this Wonderful World! is a Japanese light novel series that centers around Kazuma Satō, a teenage boy, who after his death is reincarnated and sent to a fantasy world where he battles monsters and goes on adventures with a dysfunctional band of allies. The series was created by Natsume Akatsuki and includes illustrations by Kurone Mishima.

So far, two seasons of Konosuba’s anime adaptation have aired. The second season began airing from January 12, 2017, and ended on March 16, 2017.

Konosuba Season 3 Release Date

Konosuba Season 3 can be expected to release in either June 2021 or shortly after.

However, as of now, nothing has been confirmed by the channel. Fans are confident that it is not the end of Konosuba yet. In an ongoing meeting between Jun Fukushima and Rie Takahashi, the voice actors of Kazuma and Megumin respectively, the release date of Konosuba season 3 may have been decided upon. Reportedly, one of the show’s producers has confirmed in an interview that Konosuba has not ended and that the creators are open to continuing the series either through new episodes or OVA.

Show producer Junichiro Tamura has also agreed that the chances of fans getting to see Konosuba Season 3 are extremely high. The possibility for Konosuba Season 3 is there also because the previous Konosuba venture, ‘KonoSuba: Legend of Crimson’, was a great success. This is a positive sign to the producers as it shows them that fans are not bored with the show and are eager to see more.

Hence, since the show has been popular and well-received by fans and critics alike, the possibility for Konosuba Season 3 ought not to be dismissed. There were rumors that Natsume Akatsuki, the author of the Konosuba light novels has canceled Konosuba season 3 but those rumors were soon proven to be bogus and squashed.

Konosuba Season 3 Storyline

Fansites have been rife with numerous theories and speculations ever since Konosuba Season 2 ended. Many have tried to predict the plot for Konosuba season 3 and how it will answer questions leftover from the end of season 2.

Konosuba Season 2 showed that our protagonists were advancing in their quest to defeat the demon king; they killed two more of the king’s generals. But the questions regarding Kazuma and Megumin, the central romance, remain unanswered: will they or will they not get together? What of the future of the characters: Darkness and Aqua? Does our gang manage to take down the demon king once and for all? The opening episode of Konosuba season 2 also opened up plotlines about additional secondary antagonists.

Konosuba Season 3 may well utilize these characters in future storylines. Which path the storyline of Konosuba season 3 will take remains to be seen but if the previous seasons are any indication, fans are going to enjoy the next season of this fun-filled, action-packed anime immensely.

Jun Fukushima as Kazuma Sato: A seventeen-year-old gamer who after dying an early tragic death, is sent to a parallel dimension. He is the series’ protagonist.

Rie Takahashi as Megumin: An adolescent archwizard who belongs to the Crimson Demons race- a transhuman species. She is Kazuma’s love interest.

Sora Amamiya as Aqua: A powerful arch priestess and goddess of water who judges the humans who are to be sent to the RPG world.

So Kayano as Darkness: A crusader with commendable offensive and defensive capabilities. She has unrequited feelings for Kazuma.

Hitomi Nabatame as Sena: A solicitor for the Kingdom of Belzerg who is head of the section for serious crimes, such as treason and engaging in a conspiracy with the Devil King.

Konosuba Season 3 Best Characters
