What is Mo Dao Zu Shi
Mo Dao Zu Shi or Demonic Path Ancestral Master is a donghua series.
The novel Mo Dao Zu Shi was written by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu.
The show was directed by Xiong Ke and written by Liang Sha.Mo Dao Zu Shi is a xianxia, action, adventure, mystery and supernatural genre based series.
There are about three seasons and 32 episodes. Mo Dao Zu Shi is produced by Tencent Penguin Pictures and b.C May Pictures.
The show talks about immortality and how the protagonist Wei Wuxian deviated from the path of Xian (immortality) and created Mo Dao (Demonic Path).

Mo Dao Zu Shi Season 1
Mo Dao Zu Shi Season 1 aired in 2018 consisting of 18 episodes and was titled Qian Chen Pian.
Mo Dao Zu Shi Season 2 aired in 2019 consisting of 8 episodes and was titled Xian Yun Pian.
Mo Doa Zu Shi Season 3 was confirmed in the post credit scene of Mo Dao Zu Shi Season 2, Xian Yun Pian. Later on, a trailer was released in January 2021.
In July 2021, a chibi series for the show was released which had 30 episodes.
Mo Dao Zu Shi Storyline
Mo Dao Zu Shi has a fictional storyline.
Wei Wuxan created the Demonic Path which led to people despising him in a great number.
His reputation of being a grandmaster was buried in the Earth.
Wei Wuxan was backstabbed by someone who was like a brother to him but due to his power Wei Wuxan was able to avoid death.
He changed forms as a lunatic so that he could keep avoiding death.
Finally, he was brought under Lan Wangji’s supervision who is known for his cultivation skills but he was Wei’s classmate and archenemy.
The story continues with Wei’s adventures, mysteries and portrays his affection towards Lan.
The show takes us back to the past where we learn Wei experimented on creating the Demonic Path.

What Happened in Season 2?
Wei Wuxian was hated by everyone because of his creation of the Demonic Path.
He gets backstabbed by someone, it was Wei’s bad deeds catching up to him.
The powerful clans took advantage of this situation and murdered Wei brutally.
However, Wei reincarnates as a lunatic.
The lunatic, Wei lived under his archenemy, Lan. Later on, Wei realizes that Lan had affectionate feelings towards him.
Mo Dao Zu Shi English Dub
Sometimes people like watching shows dubbed in English as it is their first language or they are more comfortable in understanding English over other languages.
Unfortunately, Mo Dao Zu Shi hasn’t released an English dub.

Wei Wuxian
Wei Wuxian is the protagonist of the series. He is the only son of Cangse Sanren and Wei Changse. Wei Wuxian was a disciple of the Jiang Clan of Yunmeg. Wei’s weapons included the sword suibian, the flute Chenqing and so on. Ultimately, his creation of the Demonic Path led him to his demise.
Lan Wangji
Lan Wangji is the second master of the Lan Clan. He has a cold and aloof personality. He was Wei’s classmate and archenemy. Lan often tried to stop Wei from pursuing the dark arts. Later on, when Wei gets reincarnated as a lunatic he lives under the roof of Lan.
Lan Xichen
The first young master of the Lan Clan was Lan Xichen. He is warm and known to be gentle towards others. He is kind and always tries to help others even if they are not of his clan.
Lan Qiren
Lan Qiren is an elder of the Lan Clan. He produces skilled students even if they have no hope. Lan Qiren is Lan Xihchen and Lan Wangji’s uncle.
