Rakshasa Street is an animated Chinese series. The series was originally a Chinese manhua.

Manhua implies that a comic book series is of Chinese Origin.

The manhua comic series is titled “Zhen Houn Jie ” which translates to “Rakshasa Street ”.

Rakshasa Street is written and also illustrated by the renowned manhua creator, Xu Chen.

In 2010, the Rakshasa Street Comic started printing under the “Hi Manhua” production house and is still progressing.

The comic has been split into three parts by the “Hi Manhua ” production house.

The popularity of the mahua comic kept on increasing and it got adapted into an animated television and web series.

What is Rakshasa Street Chinese Drama?

In 2016, the chinese comic series “ Zhen Houn Jie ” was made into an animated television series.

The anime was directed by the well known Hengyu Lu and Shujie Li and was produced by the “L² Studio ” production house.

The crew includes Ling Huang who handles soundtrack of Rakshasa Street animated series.

Yaoqi will be the producer of the series and the series has a very popular opening theme song.

The opening theme song of Rakshasa Street is titled “Bu Yuan Hui Tou” and performed by NZBZ.

Rakshasa Street Main Characters 

The major characters include: Cao bing, Cao Xuanliang and Xia Ling.

Cao Yan Bing also known as the Flame General is the main character of the series Rakshasa Street.

The 20 years old, male, red haired and brown-eyed Cao Yan Bing is the ex-Requiem General of the Rakshasa Street and has a body of a Martial God.

He has a brother Cao Xuan Liang who is another main character in Rakshasa Street. Cao Yaan Bing’s guardian spirits are Xu Chu, Dian Wei, Xiahou Yuan, Xiahou Dun and Xu Huang and his spirit level is Tapana.

Cao Yan Bing first appeared in the Manhua Debut Chapter 1.

Cao Xuan Liang also known as the Bomber is the current Requiem General of the Rakshasa Street.

The male, brown haired and brown-eyed has Tang Liu Yu and Yu Jin and his guardian spirits. Cao Xuan Liang’s spirit level is Samghata. Cao Xuan Liang first appeared in the Manhua Debut Chapter 1.

Xia Ling (夏铃, Xia Ling, lit. Summer Bell) is another main character of Rakshasa Street.

Xia Ling is a 18-year old female with brown hair and purple-eyes. Her ancestor is Muwen Yuan Xiang. Xia Ling is affliated with Architecgtural Design Company as an intern.

Her guardian spirits are Li Xuan Yuan, Golden Spirit Child and Phantom Fruit Beast and her spirit level is Kalasutra.

Other minor characters are: Guifi Santong, Hale Camp, LiuYushan, Lu Tianyou and Xiao Rou.

Rakshasa Street Plot

The story of Rakshasa Street is based on the supernatural.

The story sets into place with a place known as the Rakshasa or the Requiem Street. The good and the bad spirits get attracted to this place for reasons unknown.

The spirits and humans both can be found inhibited in Rakshasa Street. A non-soul-user human being is not able to enter Rakshasa Street, a supernatural place unless the person is a Rare-Soul User who has been accompanied by special Guardian Spirits. 

The Cao family maintained peace between the spirits and human beings.

However, chaos ensues after head Cao family and his wife were made to run away.

Between this chaos, they left behind their children, Cao Yan Bing and his brother, Cao Xuan Liang.

The two brothers had nobody to take care of them but they still managed to to take care of themselves.

As time passes, the boys meet a young girl named Xia Liang. Xia Liang takes it upon herself to protect the two brothers and the legacy of the Cao family by fighting off evil spirits.

Rakshasa Street Season 1

The first season of Rakshasa Street is a 24-episode animated television and web series.

The plot stands out because of its amazing, supernatural and emotional narrative.

In Rakshasa Street the story keeps going back and forth in different time zones which simultaneously showcase important events that took place in the place and how they are affecting the present situations.

The creators beautifully depict it by leaving an episode on a cliffhanger and picking up the story in the next episode, this way the audience have their eyes glued throughout.

The transitioning and the pace of the series is near perfect.

The supernatural, action-based and fantasy based plot and storyline is easy to understand by watchers as it is not so complicated.

Rakshasa Street Story So Far 

The story starts with Xia Ling stepping into Rakshasa Street, a place to which good and bad spirits are attracted.

She didn’t know she was stepping into trouble.

Cao Yan Bing shows up and saves her life from the evil spirits of Rakshasa Street. A normal human being cannot enter Rakshasa Street but Xia Ling was a spirit host and thus was able to enter Rakshasa Street. 

Later in the story, Cao Xuan Liang, Cao Yan Bing’s brother, shares his family history with Xia Ling but ends up getting attacked by the evil spirits.

Xia Liang summons a guardian spirit and protects him. Finally, Cao Yan Bing comes to Xia Ling’s and Cao Xuan Liang’s rescue. Hei Er Kan Pu is the evil spirit.

Moving forward in the story, we come to know Xia Ling’s guardian spirit is Li Xuan Yuan.

Xia Ling wants to release the Lock Heart Chains between Li Xuan Yuan and her but it is not that easy. Xia Special training is done by Ling and Cao Yan Bing under Gui Fu San Tong, a skilled spirit.

Furthermore, a bounty hunter Xian Kun Lun challenges Cao Yan Bing and continuously follows Cao Yan Bing for bounty.

Cao Yan Bing and Xia Ling successfully manage to return back to Rakshasa Street. 

As the story continues, the secrets of the cursed villagers and the village come to light.

Sadly, Xia Ling loses her memory in the spirit world and Cao Yan Bing loses his confidence in fighting.

Cao Yan Bing’s spirit Xu Chu encourages him to keep fighting and to Cao Yan Bing’s surprise a mysterious spirit guide inside him is yet to be awakened. 

Chains start to break apart, secrets start getting revealed but Cao Yan Bing loses his memory. He is able to regain his full memory through his full power and with two more spiritual guides.

It is a sequel to Rakshasa Street season 1. Other Names include Rakshasa Street 2, Requiem Street 2, Rakshasa Street Ⅱ: Bei Luo Shi Men,  Zhen Hun Jie 2: Bei Luo Shi Men, 镇魂街 第2季. Season is produced by Bilibili, L2 Studio and U17.com.
