The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 Release Date

The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 will be titled ‘The Seven Deadly Sins: The Judgement of Anger.’ It is unlikely that the fans will get to see new episodes from The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 in 2020. In all probability, the next season will start airing from January 2021. Seeing that Season 4 was released in August last year, it might not be wrong to say that we might be getting The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 in winter 2021/2022. The Seven Deadly Sins season 4 fans are now eagerly waiting for the release of Season 5.

The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 Reason for Delay

The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 was expected to be broadcast in Japan October 2020 onwards but the broadcast was pushed back owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. An official announcement about the same was released on The Seven Deadly Sins website. Since the release of The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 has been pushed back for several seasons, we can expect it to be broadcasted between January and August of the next year. Hopefully, the fans will not have to wait much longer. 2021 will be their year.

The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 Cast

Yuki Kaji as Meliodas: The commander of The Seven Deadly Sins, a band of powerful knights in the land of medieval Britannia. Meliodas bears the mark of Wrath on his left shoulder.

Sora Amamiya as Elizabeth Liones: A princess born in the Kingdom of Danafor who is later adopted by King Liones. She becomes an ally of The Seven Deadly Sins and seeks their help to win her kingdom back from the control of the Great Holy Knights. Though not a fighter, Elizabeth is determined and has a strength of character.

Misaki Kuno as Cristina Vee: A talking pig and Melodias’ friend who is limitlessly loyal to him. He serves as the show’s comic relief and fights alongside The Seven Deadly Sins.

The rest of the cast consists of the remaining members of The Seven Deadly Sins and some of the series’ antagonists like the Great Holy Knights.

The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 What to Expect

In terms of the storyline, The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 should pick up where Season 4 left off. Will Ban be able to find Meliodas in the Purgatory? Time and its operations are different in the land of Purgatory, so there’s no knowing how many centuries will have passed before Ban meets Meliodas. Moreover, new politics and alliances are brewing in Britannia and soon some shocking secrets may be revealed. There are even fan theories that say that Meliodas, who is growing more and more powerful every day, may soon claim the title of the demon king of the demon clan.

Fans expressed frustration and disappointment with the drop in quality of the animation Season 2 onwards. Fans online have even regarded the visuals of The Seven Deadly Sins Season 4 as underwhelming and substandard and are hoping that the animation of The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 will be an improvement over that of the previous season. The production of The Seven Deadly Sins was shifted from A-1 Pictures to Studio Deen. What a lot of people do not know is that Studio Deen also outsourced the animation to Marvy Jack, a South-Korean animation studio. Fans were not impressed by the results of this development and some fans have even created memes on Twitter about the show’s poor-quality animation.

On a more positive front, the first look of The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 has been released on Twitter by the series creators. The following message was attached, detailing the plot which fans will get to see in The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5:

“Meliodas, Elizabeth, Hawk, Dianne, Van, King, Gowther, Merlin, and Escanor are standing against the flames, a mighty enemy, and a visual depicting the members of the Seven Deadly Sins confronting their destiny.”

So, fans have something to look forward to from the series next year. Additionally, only 267 of the total 346 chapters from the manga have been adapted into the anime series. So, the creators still have 79 chapters and a lot of ground to cover. There are also plans for a manga sequel of the series, to be called The Seven Deadly Sins: The Four Knights of the Apocalypse. This is not great news for fans of the manga but also tells anime fans that there might very well be a Season 6 of The Seven Deadly Sins in the pipelines. And if the fans manage to make The Seven Deadly Sins Season 5 a commercial success, there are high chances that the dream for Season 6 may materialize for the anime fans.
