Growing up, I loved playing Tekken with my friends and I still pay Tekken 7 on my XBox. Tekken is one of the best fighting games ever and in this post we are going to give you all the information about Tekken 7 Tier List and best Tekken characters you should try!

About Tekken 7 Game

Released in March 2015, Tekken 7 is a fighting game and one of the most popular video games in the world and loved by gaming fans from all over the globe.

Tekken 7 belongs to the Tekken video game franchise of which the first installment was released in 1994. Since then, Tekken has risen in popularity and critical opinion and has become an iconic example of the fighting genre alongside similar games like Street Fighter.

Tekken is developed and released by a Tokyo-based company called the Bandai Namco Entertainment. Tekken 7 was made available on various platforms like home consoles, arcades, etc. Tekken 7 is a game for both amateurs and competitive/professional players.

Tekken makes use of a tier-list system where players are evaluated and ranked based on how well they perform in players’ tournaments. Tiers indicate a player’s powers, capabilities, winning potential, etc.

Tiers are not straitjacketed categories but flexible. Skilled players, for example, can win with characters from even B-Tier if they know how to use the character correctly. Likewise, rankings of characters change from time-to-time depending on their competitive performance and thus players can upgrade from one tier to another above it.

It is, in other words, possible to win with any character as long as the player knows what they are doing. Because of such a balanced and dynamic gaming model, Tekken 7 has gained a position among the top-selling fighting games in the industry today and has been immensely praised for its animation, character design, and improvement over the previous installments of the franchise.

Tekken 7 Tier List

SS-Tier

These are the top-tier players in the game and usually regarded as being the strongest and most skillful. These are the ones pro players have scored the most with when choosing them as fighters/avatars in the game. These are, without a doubt, the best of the best.

In the SS-Tier list, Steve Fox is often listed as the best player, though he is constantly in a neck-to-neck competition with Paul and Devil Jin. Steve Fox’s character had some issues in the earlier installments of the Tekken game but now he stands as one of the most valuable players in the game. Steve Fox always ranks among the top 5 players of the game.

Playing with SS-Tier players is a sure step towards winning and game success. Devil Jin, another SS-Tier player, has been variously ranked in different tiers but is an almost flawless fighter and thus deserving of a position in the SS-Tier list.

S-Tier

S-Tier includes players that are a step below the SS-Tier but still immensely powerful and capable in their own regard.

These characters’ advantages and strengths make it possible for players to win a large number of fights and establish them as formidable, noteworthy players. S-Tier includes players like King, who is endowed with a few exceptionally strong and effective moves that can knock out the opponent in a matter of seconds.

You would have to be a pro player to be able to stand against S-Tier players like King. Leroy, another S-Tier player, is the top scorer of Tekken 7 as determined by popularity polls.

A-Tier

This tier includes the kind of players that can be called good players. They need some training and have to overcome some minor weaknesses and can then become reigning champions. It is all up to the reader how they decide to maneuver the game world and choose and mold the different characters they are offered.

An example from the A-Tier player group is Law who, though not powerful as the players listed above, has vast and formidable skill sets that help him hold his own against any opponent. With the right kind of chain commands, Law can become an unstoppable force and a fighter to be reckoned with. Dragunov is another skilled A-Tier fighter.

B-Tier

B-tier includes players like Law who is a skilled martial arts fighter. Winning with players as your avatars can require some effort but it pays off in the end because it leads to the simultaneous improvement in the skills of both the avatar and actual player.

Kazuya is one of the players commonly placed in the B-Tier. Kazuya has his own set of limitations like inflexibility but has some key special moves that can prove challenging to counter in a fight. B-Tier players are at least reliable, if nothing else, and a great starting point for amateur players.

C-Tier

C-Tier players are the weakest players in the game. C-tier usually includes players that are new additions to the game and hence, novices. They are at the most average in terms of their powers and capabilities.

However, they must not be underestimated as they too have the potential to be winners, it all depends on the cleverness and strategy of the player who is controlling them.

Gigas, for instance, has a move where he can use force to pin his opponent against the wall. If that is coupled with his overkill, Gigas can prove to be quite the fighter. Same with Lars, who is flexible, brave, and capable of a variety of fighting styles; he simply needs players with good battle plans to lead him to victory.
