However some of Hollywood’s hottest actors have well and truly passed puberty! They are mature, suave, well versed in life…. and they are all over the age of 40!

In 10th position, it’s Mr Sean Connery – age 81
Sir Thomas Sean Connery (born 25 August 1930), better known as Sean Connery, is the Scottish actor and producer who is best known for portraying James Bond between the 60’s and 80’s, he is still an impressive specimen of the male sex. In 1989, he was proclaimed as “Sexiest Man Alive” by People magazine, and at age 69, he was voted “Sexiest Man of the Century”. It’s really not hard to see why!
Ok, so he may be close to hitting 100 years old, but the man still has an undeniable look, an accent that makes me go weak in the knees and a way with the ladies!
Looking fine at number 9, Hugh Jackman – age 43
Hugh Jackman (born 12 October 1968) is the Australian actor and producer who is involved in film, musical theatre, and television. Hugh is well known for his role as Wolverine in the X-Men series. Jackman does have a softer side and has starred in several romance flicks such a Kate and Leopold (2001). This Aussie born hunk is buff and appealing. It’s not hard to see why he was voted as “Sexiest Man Alive” in 2008!
He’s a triple threat: a star who can sing, dance and wield a weapon and with that rugged, manly two day growth, who couldn’t find the man appealing?
In position number 8, Mr Robert Downey Jr. – age 47
Robert John Downey, Jr. (born April 4, 1965) is an American actor who made his screen debut in 1970 at the age of five. Ever since then, he has worked consistently in film and television. Known for his roles in the comic book adaptations of Iron Man (2008), Iron Man 2 (2010), The Avengers (2012) and Chaplin (1992), for which he won an academy award. He is the bad boy of the bunch for his run in’s with police in early 2000 and 2001, but who doesn’t love a bad boy?
The man could turn 70 tomorrow and still be A-OK in my books!
Number 7 goes to Mr Denzel Washington – age 57
Denzel Washington (born December 28, 1954) is an American actor, screenwriter, director, and film producer. Getting his big break in the early 80’s in a medical drama, Denzel has wisely chosen his roles movies, such as Bone Collector (1999), Man on Fire (2004) and The Book of Eli (2010), all of which received critical acclaim and become one of the biggest and hottest actors. The man just doesn’t pick a bad role and for his careful choice with script selection, he has received two Academy Awards, two Golden Globe awards, and a Tony Award.
Tall, strikingly handsome and the leading man of blockbuster films, like a fine wine, the man just gets better with age!
At number 6, it’s Mr Mark Walberg – age 41
Mark Walberg (born August 31, 1962) is an American actor and television personality. Former rapper (remember Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch from the 90’s?) turned actor, Walberg’s rose to Hollywood fame in 1994 with his first big screen role in Army Intelligence. Many refused to believe that the rapper come actor would last. Glad to see he proved the wrong!! Predominately known for his role as ‘Dirk Diggler’ in the 1997 smash Boogie Nights (HELLO!), he also stared in The Fighter (2010) and again grace the big screen in the upcoming release Ted (2012). This stunningly magnificent looking man has impressed both audiences and critics with his acting abilities and diversity.
Do I really need to explain why women swoon over him? I mean just look at the man!
Presenting number 5, Mr David Boreanaz – age 42
David Boreanaz (born May 16, 1969) and one of the younger of the Hollywood hotties! He is an American actor, television producer and director. Known for his role as Angel on the TV hit Buffy the Vampire Slayer and as Special Agent Booth on the series Bones. Whilst Boreanaz has only appeared in a handful of movie roles, with his major film appearance was in 2001’s horror film, Valentine, he is a fantastic actor and really should invest on getting his skills up on the big screen more often. Boreanaz was chosen as one of People Magazine’s “Sexiest Men Alive” for 2007.
Featuring a brooding and intense look, it’s easy to understand why this man was discovered whilst walking his dog.
At number 4, Mr Daniel Craig – age 44
Daniel Craig (born 2 March 1968) is the English actor best known for playing British secret agent James Bond from 2006 after reprising the role from Pierce Brosnan. His debut as Bond in Casino Royale (2006) was highly praised and the film grossed the highest out of all Bond film’s to date. He is in several films released this year, including Girl with the Dragon Tattoo and the next instalment in the Bond franchise, Skyfall which is rumoured to be an even bigger hit.
With this piercing blue eyes, finely chiselled facial features, Mr Craig has old school sex appeal. He suits the part of James Bond perfectly,… now would you like that shaken or stirred?
Number 3… Mr Matthew McConaughey – age 42
Matthew McConaughey (born November 4, 1969) is the American actor who gained recognition in his debut big screen role Dazed and Confused in 1993. His big break did come until 1996 when he played a lawyer in A Time to Kill which was based on the John Grisham novel of the same name. By the early 2000s, he was frequently cast in romantic comedies, including The Wedding Planner (2001) and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003), both of which were successful with the ladies at the box office. In 2005, McConaughey was named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive”.He has ruggedly manly looks, a well defined physique and the man can act!
As runner up in position number 2, Mr Richard Gere – age 62
Richard Gere (born August 31, 1949) is an American actor who began his acting career in the 1970s. He got his rise to fame in the 1980 film, American Gigolo, which established him as a leading man and a sex symbol. Women the world over feel in love with Gere with his role as Edward Lewis in the 1990 romantic smash film Pretty Woman, which to this day is considered to be one of the most financially successful entries in the romantic comedy genre, with an estimated gross income of $463.4M in ticket sales. People magazine named Gere the “Sexiest Man Alive” in 1999.
Richard Gere is an international sex symbol; this fact is undisputed by woman the world over!

Mr Johnny Depp – age 48
Johnny Deep (born June 9, 1963) is an American actor, producer and musician. Depp rose to fame in the 1980’s TV series, 21 Jump Street, becoming a teen idol. Not happy with his status of being ‘the teen dream’, he turned his focus to film and finding challenging roles. In 1990, played the title character of Edward Scissorhands and later found success in films such as Sleepy Hollow (1999), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) and the Pirates of the Caribbean film series (2003–present) as Captain Jack Sparrow. Depp has collaborated with his friend and director, Tim Burton in seven films, more recently with the to be released this year, Dark Shadows.
Why has this man been given top honours on my list?
For starters the man has been named not one, but twice as the Sexiest man alive by People magazine in 2003 and 2009. He is not only a talented and diverse actor, but the man is also quirky which is great trait needed to be able to star in 7 Tim Burton films!
Finally, not only is he considered to be one of the sexiest actors over the age of 40, Johnny Depp is the sexiest actor in Hollywood….PERIOD!
