What is Legacies Season 3
Legacies is a supernatural fantasy TV series that airs on The CW. Legacies is a spin-off of The Originals, which itself is derived from the hit TV show, The Vampire Diaries. Legacies features characters from both The Originals and The Vampire Diaries as well as several original characters.
Legacies follows the story of Hope Michaelson, the seventeen-year-old daughter of the late Klaus Michaelson and Hayley Marshall. Hope is a student at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted, a special place that teaches those with powers and abilities how to control them.
The story is a continuation of Hope’s life story from where it left off in the fifth and final season of The Originals.

Danielle Rose Russell as Hope Mikaelson: The daughter of Klaus Michaelson and Hayley Marshall and a student at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. She is seventeen years old and the series’ protagonist. She is extremely powerful and belongs to a line of exceptional vampires, werewolves, and witches. She is one of the titular ‘Legacies’ of the previous age of supernatural beings in the world.
Aria Shahghasemi as Landon Kirby: A friend and eventual love interest of Hope Michaelson. He too studies at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. At first, thought of as human, he is later revealed to be a supernatural creature called the phoenix.
Kaylee Bryant as Josie Saltzman: Headmaster Alaric Saltzman’s daughter and a student at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. She is a witch and one-half of the Saltzman twins. Compared to her sister Jenny, she lacks self-esteem and is timid by nature. Josie is named after her biological mother, Josie “Jo” Laughlin.
Jenny Boyd as Lizzie Saltzman: The older Saltzman twin who is also a witch. Unlike Kaylee, Jenny is domineering and self-centered by nature. She is named after Caroline Forbes’ late mother, Elizabeth Forbes. Caroline Forbes is the surrogate mother of the Saltzman twins.
Matt Davis as Alaric Saltzman: The Headmaster of the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. He is the Saltzman twins’ father and a character who has been a part of the franchise since The Vampire Diaries.

Legacies Season 3 Release Date
Legacies Season 1 began airing in October 2018 and Legacies Season 2 in October 2019. Legacies Season 3, likewise, is expected to release in October 2020.
However, due to the shutdown of film productions and complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic all around the world, the release of Legacies Season 3 may be postponed, maybe even till next year.
